Refurbishment of TM Newlands Branch
Heritage Construction was the main contractor in this project that set out to rejuvenate and expand the supermarket. Furthermore, the shop was to attain the new PicknPay standard as part of the ongoing countrywide program being executed by the retail giant.
The works entailed extensive demolitions within and at the face of the existing structure, new brickwork, wall plastering, wall and floor tiling, suspended ceilings, plumbing and drainage services, roof covering and insulation replacement, roof deck waterproofing, paintwork and external paving works. All the foregoing works were to be coordinated to run concurrently with the extensive HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Refrigeration, Electrical Installations and Shop fit-out done by specialist team members.
Carried out in the midst of Covid restrictions, the project is a testament to what can be achieved with committed teamwork in the face of adversity and was completed in just under 20 weeks.
